 Hello Reader! On this post, i will be telling you why CapeTown is a wonderful vacation site for all kinds of  travellers. Am sure most of you must have heard of Table Mountain, which happens to be one of Cape Town's landmark in South Africa. Let me talk more on CapeTown.

     Also known as the Mother City of South Africa, CapeTown is located on the southwestern tip of the African continent. CapeTown stands as a glittering metropolis blessed with one world's most breathtaking natural landscape. The city is famous for its habour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic region, as well as for such well known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point.

 Some Popular Tourist sites  in CapeTown

Table Mountain

It is an icon of the city. You will get an amazing view of the city from the top of this mountain. To get to the top, you have to take a cable car.

Lion's Head

Table Mountain's little sister. If you are searching for an adventure, you can hike up Lion's Head. It's a 45 minutes hike to the top. 

Robben Island


Robben Island is famous as holding  a holding place for the imprisoned Nelson Mandela. It's a good place to learn about the apartheid era in South Africa. To get there you have to take a ferry.

Table Mountain National Park
         It's  CapeTown nature reserve stretching from Signal Hill in the city to Cape Point. A blend of rugged mountains, moonlit beaches, beautiful flowers and wildlife.
District Six Museum 



Make sure to visit this museum. I also holds information of the apartheid era. 

Cape Point(Cape of Good Hope)
    Located at the southwestern tip of Africa, in the Cape of Good Hope Section of Table Mountain National Park. This is the best place for hikers, surfers, anglers and cyclists due to the sandy beaches, valleys and mountains.

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, Simon's Town
    Enjoy some beach time with the endearing African Penguin(a.k.a jackass penguins due to the sound they make) at Boulders beach.

     There are many more sites to visit in CapeTown too numerous to mention

    Some Things To In CapeTown 

Catch a ride up Table Mountain
  You can take the cable car up Table Mountain to get an awesome view of the city.

Dive with Great White Sharks in Simon's Town
   CapeTown waters contains a good amount of sharks. You can take advantage of this by going shark cage diving in Simon's town on False Bay.

Hike up Lion's Head
   You can take a 45 minutes up Lion's head. The top also offers a great view of the city.

Camel riding on Imhoff farm, Kommetjie
   Yeah that's right there are camels in CapeTown. Visit Imhoff farm to see and ride the Camels.

Visit Boulders beach to see the African Penguin Colony
   First camels and now penguins. CapeTown is really a wonderful place. Go to boulder beach to see the jackass penguins. Make sure you go early because it's sometimes crowded and don't get to close to the penguins. They can bite your fingers off with their sharp beak.

Go for a nice swim on Clifton beaches
   You can get a nice swim at cold clean Clifton beaches on a sunny day. A good place to relax and cool off. 

Shipwreck scuba diving, Cape Route
   Cape waters is littered with hundreds of shipwrecks. Go scuba diving to explore the hidden wonders of the shipwrecks.

    There are so many things to do in Cape Town. I mentioned just a few. From all that I have said about CapeTown, am sure you must seen why The Mother City is a wonderful place to go to. Did I fail to mention that CapeTown is among the best cities in the world. That is why it appeared on my top ten best travel destination post.
