THE BAHAMAS

so much love this country. It's name is just amazing(The Bahamas )and it is surrounded by the Atlantic ocean which means there will be lots of beaches. Let's talk more on this wonderful country.

     The Bahamas is the richest country in the Caribbean. It is located in the Atlantic ocean just above south-east of the U.S state of Florida and Cuba. It comprises of 29 official islands,661 cays,2387 rocks. The islands are classified in 16 different regions. They are.

  4. New Providence
  5. Abaco Island

  8. The Exumas

  16. Mayaguan
       About 80% of the country's population  Is found on New Providence island and the country's capital city NASSAU is located there  too. The New Providence island is the most developed part of The Bahamas. The world famous Altantis resort is found here. 
     If you love sail boating then the Abaco island is a place you should be. The Abaco island is known for being the sailing capital of the world because of it's amazing wind current.
      The Exumas island has many sandbars. Some of them are so shallow that you can technically walk from one island to another without the need of a boat.

Fun facts about The Bahamas

  1. The Eleuthera island has pink sand on it beaches
  2. The Exumas is home to swimming pigs that swim to boat docking expecting to be feed
  3. The Hughes point on the country is a 63metres hill called Mt. Alvernia
  4. The Mayaguana is home to a plump rabbit sized rodent called the Bahamian vHutia which was thought to have been extinct.
